The Fairfield Prep-Shelton Division I West matchup - an exciting contest won by Shelton, 26-21 - on Friday, September 28 at Finn Stadium was televised on MSG and is part of the 2007 Snapple High School Football Game of the Week series... In addition to the 60 student-athletes who were honored, the six teams that won or shared division titles were recoginized... Hillhouse Wins Class M Football Title
(12-2-06) --
Hillhouse (11-1) defeated top-seeded Windham, 28-6, in the Class M state championship game at Arute Field on the campus of Central Connecticut State University.... Game MVP Danny Williams rushed for 128 yards and scored all four Academic touchdowns... Click here for the complete scoring summary and game story.
Semifinal Recap
(11-29-06) -- Hillhouse (10-1), one of four SCC teams to earn state football playoff berths, advanced to the Class M championship game with a 40-0 semifinal win over St. Bernard's/Norwich Tech... In Class LL action, Faifield Prep (8-3) lost to Greenwich, 34-0, and Shelton (8-3) fell to Southington, 36-9.

12th Annual SCC ALL-CONFERENCE FOOTBALL BANQUET
1/11/06 -- The 12th Annual Southern Connecticut Conference All-Conference Awards Banquet was held on Monday, January 9 at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington. SCC Commissioner Al Carbone served as master of ceremonies and recapped another successful year on the gridiron. In addition to honoring the 60 all-conference football players, the divisional winners (Xavier, West Haven, Hillhouse, and Derby/Sheehan) were recognized. Former Shelton HS, UConn and current Detroit Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky (pictured to right) was the guest speaker... Click here for full story and pictures.
Xavier Named "Joseph W. Kelly Trophy" Winner by Walter Camp Football Foundation

It is the first time that Xavier has earned the Joseph W. Kelly Trophy. It also marks the sixth time since 1994 that a SCC school has earned the Kelly Trophy (Cheshire 1994 and 1995; Hand 1997, 2004; West Haven 2002)... Click here for the full news release

3 TIMES A CHARM FOR SCC!!!
With a state-best four teams - Xavier (LL), Branford (MM), Hillhouse (M), and Hand (M) - earning spots in the CIAC football championship games, the SCC has a lot to be proud of. On Saturday, December 3 - it got even better as three SCC teams captured state titles!
Class LL - Xavier defeated Southington, 45-30
Class MM - Branford defeated East Lyme, 14-7
Class M - Hand defeated SCC-rival Hillhouse, 34-0.
Notes: Hand won its third straight state title and fourth since joining the SCC... It was the second time (Cheshire and Hamden, Class LL final in 1996) in league history that two SCC teams met in a championship game... Click here for championship game recaps and statistics.
